What Makes a Coaching Package High-Value?

First things first—let's define what we mean by a "high-value" coaching package. A high-value coaching package goes beyond just the coaching sessions. It includes a mix of elements that provide immense value, solve specific problems, and help clients achieve their desired outcomes more effectively.

Think about it from the perspective of a client: They are investing time, money, and energy into working with you. So, what makes that investment worth it?

  1. Personalization: One-on-one attention, customized plans, and tailored resources.

  2. Accessibility and Support: Continuous support between sessions, whether through email, messaging apps, or check-in calls.

  3. Resources and Tools: Access to exclusive content like workbooks, videos, or guided meditations that support their journey.

  4. Accountability: Structures that help clients stay on track, such as accountability partners, follow-up emails, or progress-tracking tools.

  5. Bonuses and Extras: Additional value that makes clients feel like they're getting a fantastic deal.

The aim is to create a well-rounded package that meets your client where they are, provides them with what they need, and offers a bit of surprise and delight along the way.

Consider the Main Components of a Coaching Package:

  1. Length- 40-90 minutes, with an average of 55 minutes

  2. Number- A beta package of 4/8/12 sessions works if you’re a newer coach or you are testing a new offer works great.

  3. Duration- This is the amount of time your number of sessions will take place in. The duration can be based on months or a year. 3/4/6/12 month coaching packages are pretty common.

  4. Frequency- Weekly, biweekly, or monthly are the norms. This obviously depends on the type of results you’re trying to create and if you’ve coached this client before. Let’s say you work with moms who want organization in their home- you may work with them once a week for a month or two, and then offer a monthly check-in for the next three months or even monthly for a year. If you’re working with a young professional who’s trying to grow in personal thought work to build confidence and clarity about their career path, you may want to offer weekly sessions for six months or biweekly sessions for a year because you’re in it til they win it. Just remember you’re going after specific results that take time to create and you don’t want your client to lose ground they’ve attained by having too much time between sessions, so you are the one who knows best how often they need coaching for them to become successful. Of course, if you’re doing general life coaching and just working on more general goals based on what they bring to the session, you can offer whatever works best for that client.

  5. Location- Where will you hold your sessions? Online via Zoom, Google Meet or the like? Locally in a coffee shop, library side room, or at church?

The main idea is that you consider the results you want to help a client achieve, how long it will take the average client to create those results, and add in a session or two extra for a buffer. Don’t forget that it’s wise leave room for a break and to get the next client’s info ready between sessions.

Pulling all of these components together, you might have something to start with that looks like this:

12 - 90 minute face to face sessions held monthly over a year.

12 - 55 minute Zoom sessions held weekly over three months.

26 - 50 minute Zoom sessions held biweekly over a year.

Examples of High-Value Coaching Packages

Let's talk about some examples of high-value coaching packages that incorporate these elements. Here are three different types to consider:

1. The Intensive Transformation Package

This package is for clients who are looking for deep, rapid transformation. It's ideal for coaches in fields like life coaching, mindset coaching, or health coaching. Here’s how it could look:

  • Duration: 8 weeks

  • Sessions: Weekly 90-minute one-on-one sessions

  • Support: Unlimited email and messaging support between sessions

  • Resources: Customized workbooks and exercises tailored to the client’s goals

  • Extras:

    • A 30-minute emergency call for moments when the client needs immediate guidance

    • A welcome package with a journal, a personalized note, and a curated reading list

    • Access to a 4-week group mastermind after the package ends for continued support and networking

Amp Up the Value: To make this package even more high-value, consider offering a "fast-action bonus" for clients who sign up within 48 hours of their discovery call. This could be an extra session or a resource like a guided visualization or a recorded workshop.

2. The VIP Day Experience

A VIP Day is a high-ticket option for clients who want quick, concentrated work with a coach. These are powerful for business coaching, personal branding, or even relationship coaching. The VIP Day model is all about immersion.

  • Duration: One full day (6-8 hours)

  • Format: Intensive one-on-one coaching broken into segments with breaks

  • Pre-Work: A comprehensive intake form and assessment to maximize the day’s productivity

  • Post-Work: A 30-day action plan tailored to the client’s goals

  • Extras:

    • A follow-up 60-minute session two weeks after the VIP Day to review progress and tweak the plan

    • A high-quality recording of the sessions for the client to revisit

    • A personalized gift, such as a premium notebook or a branded pen

Amp Up the Value: For a bonus, consider adding a “VIP Day Prep Kit” that includes a guide on how to prepare mentally, physically, and emotionally for the day, as well as a checklist to bring everything needed. I used to offer a VIP Voxer day and my client’s would take 8 hours to really dive deep into starting their businesses. It began with a 90 minute Zoom session and then flowed into Voxer and email communications for the rest of the day. You can do half day VIP options as well, and I think that would work best for clients that are moms with kids at school or working women who only have an evening or Saturday to do it.

3. The Hybrid Coaching Program

This package is a combination of group and one-on-one coaching. It’s ideal for coaches who want to leverage their time while still providing personal attention. It’s great for niches like career coaching, personal development, or financial coaching.

  • Duration: 12 weeks

  • Group Sessions: Weekly 90-minute group coaching calls

  • One-on-One Sessions: Monthly one-on-one 60-minute coaching calls

  • Community: Access to a private community for peer support and networking

  • Resources: Lifetime access to an online course or module library that aligns with the program’s focus

  • Extras:

    • A “Hot Seat” coaching opportunity during one of the group calls

    • A digital resource library including templates, checklists, and exclusive interviews with experts

    • A completion bonus: A 30-minute future-planning session to maintain momentum after the program ends

Amp Up the Value: You can offer an early-bird bonus, such as a free digital course that complements the coaching program, for those who register early.

Implementing Bonuses and Resources to Enhance Value

Now that we've explored some high-value packages, let’s talk about how you can implement bonuses and resources to further enhance your offerings. Here are some ideas:

  1. Digital Toolkits: Think PDFs, eBooks, guided meditations, or templates. These can be easy to create and are highly valued by clients who want additional support materials.

  2. Accountability Tools: Apps or trackers that help clients track their progress. It could be a simple spreadsheet, a habit-tracker app, or even an Asana board for project management.

  3. Exclusive Content: Provide access to content not available anywhere else. This could be a series of videos, a webinar replay, or a behind-the-scenes look at your own strategies and processes.

  4. Community Access: Offer access to a private group, such as a Facebook or Slack community, where they can interact with you and other clients. This builds a sense of belonging and support, and it also offers a platform for you to provide ongoing content.

  5. Workshops or Masterclasses: Add value by including a ticket to a live or recorded workshop that aligns with the client’s goals.

  6. Personalized Welcome Packages: A physical welcome package that might include a book, a branded item, or even something specific to your client’s journey. For example, a mindset coach might include a guided journal and affirmation cards.

  7. Ongoing Support Post-Package: This could be an extra session or two, email support, or access to a community or group call after the package ends. It makes the client feel supported even beyond the initial engagement.

The key here is to ensure that each bonus or resource is genuinely valuable and not just filler. Ask yourself: How does this help my client achieve their goal? If it does, it's worth including.

Bringing It All Together

Remember, a high-value coaching package isn't just about piling on the bonuses- it’s about creating a comprehensive, supportive, and transformational experience for your clients. Think strategically about what will truly help them get from where they are now to where they want to be.

And don't forget to get feedback from your clients. The best insights often come from the people you serve!

I also want to say that I really believe the key here is to deliberate with yourself about what kind of package would best serve your clients. Pick two and test them out. See which one you enjoy more and gets the best results. Consider what resonates for your audience when they’re looking at what you offer. You could even offer both of the two options you prefer and see which one gets more traction.

If you implement some of these strategies and examples, you’ll be on your way to creating irresistible, high-value coaching packages that attract the right clients and make a lasting impact.

I hope you found this content helpful! If you’re ready to elevate your coaching business with high-value packages, I encourage you to start brainstorming and take action. And if you’d like more personalized advice, don’t hesitate to book coaching with me over HERE.
